Self Centering
Trantorque keyless bushings grip like a mechanical shrink fit on a shaft, eliminating backlash, and resisting shock and torque reversals better than keyways. Single-nut design self centers accurately and locks or unlocks with a twist of a wrench. Thus, hubless devices like plate sprockets, hubless gears and disc brakes can be easily mounted. Precise radial adjustment of timing gears permits exact initial timing with easy readjustment of the bushing being a major advantage over a fixed keyed connection. The Trantorque can be mounted directly over empty key ways to repair a worn or damaged connection. Bushings can be removed and reinstalled many times; a distinct advantage for prototype work and new product development. This coupling also features a unique keyed tapered hub design allowing it to be quickly mounted and dismounted. When the two coupling halves are properly pretensioned this coupling is torsionally rigid with zero backlash. The stainless steel bellow compensates for axial, angular, and lateral misalignment simultaneously making this one of the most versitle couplings on the market.

The Hercus Torque Limiter Coupling ia an adjustable friction drive combined with a chain coupling when set prevents over loading. When the preset load is reached the limiter will slip dis-engaging the drive, the moment the load falls below the preset, the limiter will re-engage and will resume driving. The coupling consists of a torque limiter fitted with a plate sprocket and a mating hub sprocket, hollowed out to clear the body of the torque limiter. The two sprockets are connected by a duplex chain to provide the drive. Taking up the challenge for greater technical demands in modern machine design and construction, R+W has developed the unique reliable Model SK5 Safety Coupling. Four versions are available including a single position, multi-position, load holding, and full disconnect. These couplings are preset in the factory to a customer specified disengagement torque and can be adjusted in the field after installation.
The mass moment of inertia is also very low due to its low mass and low weight.
