Bronze threaded fittings are manufactured from smooth-cored castings, designed to provide full flow with minimum restriction. All threads are accurately machined and gauged to ensure a perfect fit with the pipe. All fittings are individually tested under water to ensure quality.

Bronze is typically composed of copper, tin, and lead and may have a number of other materials including aluminum, manganese, zinc, nickel, and phosphorus. By controlling the levels of the different materials in the alloy, a wide variety of applications are better served. Bronze also has a high resistance to corrosion and wear, making it an ideal material for large cast bronze bushings. When using the sand cast process, tensile strengths of 800 MPa with elongations up to 20% can be obtained.

Bronze bushings are friction bearings that are able to operate over a wide range of speeds and loads based on the specific bronze alloy that is used. With a versatility in providing castings using a wide range of bronze alloys, Ryder-Heil ensures that you, our valued client, will get the right bushing for your machine. We can supply bushings up to 1200 lbs in weight with a maximum Outside Diameter (O.D.) of 42 inches. We also offer our own unique alloy, Virgaloy G. Virgaloy G offers a much higher compression strength than other bronze bearing alloys of equal anti-friction properties.
