Underdrive pulley systems increase engine horsepower by reducing the amount of power required to drive external engine accessories. For example, the alternator, power steering, water pump and air compressor rob horsepower from the engine. By replacing factory-sized crank and accessory drive pulleys with a resized pulley, the accessories are slowed, resulting in more horsepower available to the drive wheels. Typically, a set of Auto Specialties street pulleys will increase horsepower by 12-15, and increase mileage by 2 to 3 MPG. All pulleys are manufactured from Billet Steel or Aluminum, exceeding factory quality. The Performance Pulley systems are designed to increase horsepower by reducing accessory drag on your motor. Its new LS1 dampener pulley has a fluid based center, which will not cause spark sensors to retard timing with resultant loss of power.

Underdrive pulleys reduce the amount of drag on the front of the crankshaft by changing pulley diameter allowing more power to be sent to the wheels. By reducing drag the engine will also run more efficiently. This mod will give you an 8-10 horsepower gain Our packages include the pulleys along with the required belts and bolt.Chief among them are a pair of extra-tall belt-retention walls that eliminate the belt-slippage issues common to other balancers (see photo). Gains of up to 10 horsepower can be expected. Other unique design strengths include 100% steel construction (other brands use steel and aluminum), integral timing marks, and built-in puller-mounting threads.
